For half of her career
Mary Alice was a musician. After her children were grown,
she turned to wood working and then to painting. Mary Alice
paints primarily in water color and acrylic and is a signature
member of the Florida Watercolor Society (FWS), and the
International Acrylic Painters Association (ISAP) and the Southern
Watercolor Society (SW). She also enjoys trying her hand at
collages, and assemblages. Her bird sculptures of found
driftwood are widely collected. |

Mary Alice is an avid
gardener. Her yard, featured in Better Homes and Gardens
Magazine, has been declared a wildlife habitat by the extension
service of the University of Florida. She is a bird watcher
and animal lover. These interests are reflected in her
work. |

|
|
Humor and color
are the defining elements in her painting. Natural materials
and simplicity of line are the trademark of her wood
sculpture. |

|
|
|
|
Mary Alice has a
BS Degree from Georgia Southern University. She has studied
with well-known artists, Jim Crane, Margaret Rigg, Judith Dazzio,
Mary Alice Braukman, Carla O'Connor, Jean Grastorf, Jack
Barrett and Annie Morgan. Her paintings have been accepted
into many juried shows and hang in many private and corporate
collections. |
